Looking for some "there" here in Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara is known for its wealth, its beaches and its beachy blondes, which makes me wonder how I've lived here for almost a decade. I've been getting real itchy feet lately, wanting to move to Oakland or Austin or Portland-- somewhere where Things Are Happening. Rather than leave my job and my boyfriend in pursuit of this vague idea that cooler things are happening somewhere else, I've decided to look for Things Happening here in Santa Barbara. That's my mission statement-- we'll see how it goes.
